“Dr. Eno Oton wrote The Power of Courageous Faith to share her personal journey and relatable challenges moving from her home in Nigeria to the United States. As she endeavored to remain faithful to her faith in God and allow her steps to be ordered by God, she uncovered the immense benefits of prayer. Her stories of overcoming personal challenges, escaping danger, and praying for friends share both the love of God and practical ways to access the power of God.”

Excerpts from Chapter 2 –Miracle Working God
A miracle is a supernatural occurrence God serves to deliver us from the power of the enemy and show that He is in charge. A miracle is sometimes an unexplainable encounter from the Lord.
The Lord sometimes reveals and con!rms His love for people by performing miracles in their lives. A miracle draws us to discern and receive the love of God in obedience.
Jesus is the same yesterday, today, and forever. Miracles are real, and the Lord performs miracles to manifest His works. When Jesus opened the eyes of a man who was blind from his birth, His disciples had questions:
“And his disciples asked him, saying, Master, who did sin, this man, or his parents, that he was born blind? Jesus answered, neither hath this man sinned, nor his parents: but that the works of God should be made manifest in him.” (John 9:2–3, KJV)
God wants to bless you and glorify His name through the wonderful work He performs in your life. When you share your testimonies, people who do not believe in miracles may have a change of mind.
My prayer partner, Maggie, was barren for eighteen years. The Lord visited, revealed, and confirmed His love for her by performing miracles in her life. Maggie was barren for eighteen years after marriage. She tried everything she could but to no avail. When we prayed and believed God for a visa for her husband, God answered, which built up our faith. After the permit was approved, we started praying for the fruit of the womb for Maggie. We prayed and trusted God. The Lord answered and gave her a beautiful baby girl. Yes, miracles still happen. God opened the womb of a woman who was labeled barren and fulfilled His Word:
“He maketh the barren woman to keep house, and to be a joyful mother of children. Praise ye the Lord.” (Psalm 113:9, KJV)
After we discussed the importance of reading the Word daily, Maggie started praying the Word out loud. She reminded the Lord about His promises and what He said about healing for her children. She read and prayed the Word over her children. Even when she did not see any physical evidence, she trusted and believed in God. He honored her faith and healed her boys of asthma. Yes, miracles still happen. We return all the glory to the Lord. Hallelujah!
When Maggie fell and fractured her leg, I knew it was an attack from the enemy for harming the kingdom of darkness. We were praying the Word, praising and worshiping God, and consistently reading the Word. We knew the enemy did not like how we were seeking the Lord. Following the fracture, we increased the time that we prayed, fasted, praised, and worshiped the Lord. While Maggie was healing, God surprised us with another miracle. After the surgery, I went with Maggie to her follow-up appointment. When the doctor opened the wound, the surgical site looked like bread soaked in water. For people in the medical field, this description of a post-surgical site is not encouraging at all. It looked as if it needed to be amputated. We pressed in for healing, and God heard our prayers.
With God, all things are possible. If you have any need, call upon the God of miracles and watch God come through for you. God still answers prayer. Do not hesitate to pray to God with your most profound and secret needs. He remains faithful and honors His word. Whatever your need is, the Lord can meet you there.
